The Microsoft Search Alliance was formed in 2010 when Microsoft announced the merging of all Yahoo! sponsored search and ad network clients. The Search Alliance now reaches nearly 80 million users and 30% of all U.S. based Internet searches. Similar to Google Adwords and the Adwords Content Network, Yahoo/Bing network advertisers can set up campaigns for both sponsored search and for content network ads from the same platform. Additionally, advertisers can easily export existing Adwords campaign settings directly to their Bing Ads accounts. Unlike pricing for Bing/Yahoo sponsored search keyword ads which are only available on a CPC (cost per click) bid basis, the Bing/Yahoo content network (publisher) ads are also available on a CPM (cost per view) basis for more advanced users.
